Registration - MAGMA Workshop
The computational algebra system MAGMA is a high-level programming language designed for computations in algebra, number theory, algebraic geometry, and algebraic combinatorics.

This workshop is intended to introduce basic programming concepts and the libraries of MAGMA relevant to linear algebra, combinatorics, and coding theory. It should be especially useful to those interested in codes for error correction or erasure recovery and selected topics in cryptography.

It will take place over 2 sessions over 2 days, each with 3 hours of hands-on training. Participants will select from the following options:
  • Option 1: March 16 and March 23, 5 - 8 pm in 223 McBryde
  • Option 2: March 21 and March 28, 9 am - noon, in 118 Steger Hall
This workshop is hosted by the VT Applied Algebra Research Group (AARG) and the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI). Questions may be directed to Giuseppe Cotardo (gcotardo@vt.edu) or Gretchen Matthews (gmatthews@vt.edu).
