Call for Papers: Fourth Annual CCI Research Paper Showcase

The Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) is hosting the Fourth Annual Research Paper Showcase to spotlight cybersecurity research produced by the CCI research community and the real advances it brings to the field.

This showcase highlights peer-reviewed papers based on CCI-funded research. Selected papers will be featured on the CCI website, through CCI social media channels, in the CCI Annual Report, and in other CCI publications. CCI will also work with authors’ home institutions to help broaden the reach and visibility of the research.

Requirements

Submitted papers must:

• Be based on CCI-funded research
• Credit CCI in the published text
• Have a clear and primary focus on cybersecurity
• Be peer-reviewed
• Be published in 2025 or 2026, or accepted and scheduled for publication in 2026
• Explain how the research significantly advances the cybersecurity field

Scope of Eligible Papers

Papers that focus on related technologies—such as 5G or artificial intelligence—without a substantive cybersecurity focus will not be considered.

Examples of previously selected work are available through the Research Paper Showcase 2025, which features papers published as a result of the prior call.

Paper Submission

Each submission must include:

• Paper title
• Author(s)
• Venue (journal, magazine, or conference name)
• Date of publication or acceptance
• Link to the full paper PDF
• Impact statement explaining how the paper advances cybersecurity research and why it should be considered for the CCI Research Paper Showcase

Please submit your papers to Michele McDonald, mmcdonald@vt.edu, by 5 p.m. ET June 1, 2026. For the subject line include a one-two word (max) abbreviation of the paper title and 2026 Research Paper Showcase.
