Northern Virginia Cyber Training & Education Roadmap
The Community, Military, and Federal Facility Partnership of Northern Virginia's Cyber Training & Roadmap began as an academic alliance formed in May 2017 focused on filling cyber talent shortfalls in the region.
A Cyber Training and Education Conference in June 2018, at George Mason University developed a Roadmap focused on priorities and strategies.
The Northern Virginia Regional Commission, Mason, and Booz Allen Hamilton planned the event, which included more than 300 stakeholders from:
- Colleges and universities across the region.
- Nine public school districts.
- The private sector
- The Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC)
- Veterans organizations.
- Military installations.
- Federal agencies.
- Cities and counties in Northern Virginia.
The Roadmap provides guidelines to coordinate efforts in the Northern Virginia region to prepare, grow, and sustain a cybersecurity workforce that safeguards and promotes our region's security and economic prosperity.
The Roadmap also serves as the foundation for workforce development in the NoVa Node.
