RSA-DC: BUILDING ROBUST AND SELF-ADAPTIVE DEFENSE CAPABILITY IN CYBER SYSTEMS

Most of our services today rely on various cyberinfrastructures. As such, attacks targeting cyberinfrastructures, and the corresponding damage and loss called, keep increasing. While continuous efforts are being made to defend against such attacks, the arms race between attackers and defenders is getting more and more intensive. The recent Colonial Pipeline attack clearly evidenced the great need for prompt and proactive response to such attacks. However, today, most defenses are still static and passive, and their efficiency and efficacy often heavily rely on the operator and domain experts and their knowledge and expertise. Therefor, such defense systems often cannot keep pace with attackers. This project proposes to develop RSA-DC, a framework that builds robust and self-adaptive defense capabilities for existing cyber systems, to address these shortcomings.
