Subsidized Undergraduate Internships
Subsidized Undergraduate Internship
It is a primary goal of CCI NoVa Node to widen the pipeline of career-ready cybersecurity talent. We know that experiential learning is critical to ensuring that degree-earning students are ready to undertake the challenging work of cybersecurity in real world environments. Therefore, we are committed to making a significant investment to support experiential learning at scale in Northern Virginia.
This program enables undergraduates from across the CCI NoVa Node to participate in industry placements with cybersecurity companies from across the region, enabling them to implement and refine the skills learned in the classroom. During the academic year, students are expected to engage in 15-20 contact hours/week, and up to 35-40 contact hours/week during the summer.
CCI NoVa Node subsidizes financial support to these students on a sliding scale. For small companies (less than 50 employees), we will provide 100% support. For midsize companies (between 50 and 249 employees), we will subsidize 75% support. For large companies (250+ employees), we provide 50% support to the student.
