Congressman attends discussion on Mason’s Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Risk Management and Resilience

Rep. Gerry E. Connolly, (D-Va.) attended a discussion about George Mason University’s Community Project to create the Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Risk Management and Resilience.

Dean Kenneth Ball of Mason’s College of Engineering and Computing and Dean Ajay Vinze of Mason’s Costello College of Business hosted the event, which also included the Center’s co-directors, Amarda Shehu and J.P. Auffret.

The group discussed the importance of IT modernization and resilience for the United States and how the federal government is shaping policy for and supporting the development and deployment of technologies such as AI, cybersecurity, robotics, and 5G-FutureG telecommunications.

Andre Marshall, Mason’s vice president for Research, Innovation, and Economic Impact delivered welcoming remarks.
