CCI Symposium 2027

The Commonwealth Cyber Initiative's sixth annual Symposium will take place April 5-6, 2027, at the Virginia Guesthouse Hotel and Conference Center on the University of Virginia campus in Charlottesville, marking the symposium's first year in Charlottesville.

Centered on the theme Cyber Defense in the AI Era, this invitation-only event brings together researchers, students, government partners, and industry collaborators from across Virginia to explore emerging cybersecurity challenges and opportunities. Attendees will share research, exchange ideas, discuss advances in artificial intelligence and cyber defense, and strengthen connections across the CCI network. The symposium showcases the people, partnerships, and research driving Virginia's cybersecurity ecosystem while providing opportunities to connect with colleagues from academia, industry, and government.

The event will also feature the presentation of the sixth annual CCI Impact Award and Student Poster Presentation Award.

Registration for invited attendees opens Feb. 1, 2027, and closes March 19, 2027.

A nonrefundable registration fee of $100 applies to all attendees. Guests who choose not to participate in symposium meals may register at a reduced rate of $65. Payment by credit card is required at the time of registration.

Events include a CCI update, a student AI/Cybersecurity debate, an innovation panel, faculty research discussions, student career discussions, paper presentations, poster presentations, research demonstrations, an awards ceremony, a reception, and three meals.

Lodging and Travel

A block of rooms has been set aside for the event at the Virginia Guesthouse Hotel and Conference Center, 2017 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, Virginia, the site of the Symposium. 

Attendees are responsible for booking and paying for their rooms. If you drive, the Virginia Guesthouse Hotel and Conference Center provides hotel parking for $15 per vehicle, per day for overnight and day guests.
