Symposium 2027 FAQs

This is an invitation-only event for people involved in CCI-funded programs and projects. If you’re a researcher working on a CCI-funded project and didn’t receive an invitation, check your spam folder or contact CCI Deputy Director John Delaney at jpdelaney@vt.edu.
Registration for those invited to the Symposium opens on Feb. 1, 2027. The last day to register is April 1, 2027.

The cost of the symposium is a non-refundable $100 charge. $65 if an attendee elects not to eat lunch or dinner. You must provide a credit card number during registration. If you register, but do not attend, you will not get a refund.
You’re responsible for booking and paying for your registration fee, rooms, and travel.
Because this is a research-focused event, PIs and Co-PIs are encouraged to use travel funds within their grants for themselves and their students.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards.

The event will take place in Charlottesville, Virginia at the Virginia Guesthouse Hotel and Conference Center on the campus of the University of Virginia.

Poster submissions open Nov. 3, 2026.
Have your poster title, abstract, and research category ready when you submit. If there are multiple authors or team members for your poster, please have only one author/team member submit.

Paper submissions open Nov. 3, 2026.

Demo submissions open Nov. 3, 2026.
Submit an abstract about your demo and explain how it relates to cybersecurity. A photo of the demo is encouraged to be included with the abstract, but not required. If your demo has multiple team members, only one person should submit the abstract.

If selected, you are responsible for bringing all necessary equipment and supplies to set up and conduct your demo, including monitors, power strips, and extension cords. CCI and the Virginia Guesthouse Hotel and Conference Center will provide a table(s), access to a power outlet, and wi-fi.
