Symposium 2027 Paper Submissions

Researchers and students from Virginia institutions of higher education will discuss their research at the 2027 CCI Symposium on April 5-6, 2027, in Charlottesville, Virginia at the Virginia Guesthouse Hotel and Conference Center.

Paper Submission
Submit an abstract about your research paper, including your paper title, research area, and research category. If there are multiple authors or team members for your paper, please have only one author/team member make the submission.
Those selected will present at the event, which will be held April 5-6, 2027, in Charlottesville, Virginia, at the Virginia Guesthouse Hotel and Conference Center. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible.

Presentation Guidelines
If you are selected to present, you'll be assigned to a group in one of the following categories:
- AI & Autonomous Systems Security
Research focused on artificial intelligence, machine learning, large language models (LLMs), federated learning, AI-assisted security, AI benchmarking, and the security, resilience, and trustworthiness of autonomous systems.
- Cryptography, Privacy & Data Protection
Research focused on encryption, post-quantum cryptography, privacy-preserving computation, secure data sharing, data anonymization, and the intersection of privacy, security, and fairness.
- Cyber Defense & Threat Detection
Research focused on attack detection, incident response, threat hunting, cyber operations, malware analysis, intrusion detection, provenance analysis, adversarial techniques, and defensive cybersecurity strategies.
- Human-Centered Cybersecurity & Emerging Technologies
Research focused on cybersecurity awareness, education, behavior, usability, human factors, immersive technologies (XR/AR/VR), and security challenges associated with emerging computing platforms and digital environments.
Each presenter will get 3 minutes to present their work.
Presentations are limited to one slide for content. Any additional slides will be deleted out of respect for the time of all presenters.

To use a slide in your presentation, you must submit your PowerPoint presentation by April 1, 2027, to Jenny Feller at jlf2014@vt.edu.

Eligibility
Researchers and faculty at public institutions in CCI deemed eligible by their home institutions to serve as a Principal Investigator (PI) on an external grant could apply.
Students must have been enrolled at a Virginia institution of higher education at the time of the Symposium (April 5-6, 2027).
Research should be current or ongoing. The presentation won’t count as being the paper’s publication, and CCI won’t hold a copyright.
