Background

Martin is an assistant professor of Computer Science at the University of Richmond’s Department of Computer Sciences.

Previously, he was an assistant professor at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Martin is a roboticist and educator with more than 17 years of academic, industry, and government experience. His work investigates and develops the algorithms, abstractions, and architectures to create collaborative, safe human-robot teams. 

He holds a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering, an MS in electrical engineering, and a BS in physics and applied mathematics.
