Background

James is a professor in Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business. 

She holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems. 

Her research has been published in such journals as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Journal of Management Information Systems, Information Systems Journal, European Journal of Information Systems, European Journal of Operational Research, IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, IEEE Intelligent Systems, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part A: Systems and Humans, Networks, Computers & Security, Information & Management, Expert Systems with Applications, and Decision Support Systems

She is a visiting professor at IÉSEG School of Management, France and has served as an AE for ICIS and ECIS, as well as a mini-track chair and junior faculty consortium co-chair for AMCIS. 

She serves as an associate editor at the European Journal of Information Systems and Decision Sciences Journal, and is on the editorial review board of the Journal of the Association for Information Systems
