Computational linguistics and natural language processing (NLP), dealing with the collection and processing of large bodies of texts from various sources (e.g. social media, newspapers) with the goal of training robust NLP systems.

Background

Zampieri is an assistant professor in Mason’s School of Computing’s Department of Information Sciences and Technology. 

He holds a Ph.D. in Computational Linguistics, and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers in journals and conference proceedings and co-edited a dozen edited volumes, special issues, and workshop proceedings.
