Duminda Wijesekera’s current work includes cybersecurity of cyber-physical systems, transportation safety and security, infrastructure security and 5G. He has also worked in the area of reverse engineering, enforceable access control polices, and privacy of medical data and enforcing medical workflows in EMRs and cyber forensics.
Wijesekera is a professor of computer science at George Mason University’s Volgenau School of Engineering and a visiting research scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. He leads the Laboratory of Radio and RADAR Engineering, a collaboration between academia, industry, and government agencies; and is a co-director of the Center for Assured Research at George Mason.
Prior to joining George Mason, Wijesekera was a senior systems and software engineer at Honeywell's Military Avionics and Space Systems divisions.
Wijesekera participates in the Cyber Physical Standardization group of the Society of Automotive Engineering, is a visiting research scientist in the information security laboratory at NIST, and is a Fellow of the Potomac Institute of Policy Studies.
University of Minnesota with a Ph.D. in computer science and Cornell University with a Ph.D. in mathematical logic
