Background
Aidong Zhang develops machine learning and data science approaches to modeling and analysis of structured and unstructured data with a variety of applications, especially biological and biomedical applications.
She is Thomas M. Linville Professor of Computer Science, with a joint appointment in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and School of Data Science at University of Virginia.
Zhang is a Fellow of ACM, IEEE, and AIMBE, and author of more than 390 research publications in the areas of machine learning, data mining, bioinformatics, and health informatics.
