Background

Rechowicz, a research assistant professor at ODU’s Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC), holds a M.Eng. in Mechanics and Machine Construction and a Ph.D. in Modeling and Simulation. 

He’s an IEEE senior member and is ODU’s representative to the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing's Technical Advisory Council. 

His work with children includes organizing STEAM on Spectrum, an inclusive event for children on the autism spectrum and their families to expose them to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) principles through accessible and inclusive activities. He also organized Night on Spectrum, a networking event for caregivers of children with autism. 

He led development of inclusive display aids for a touch tour at the Mariner's Museum in Newport News, Va. The display aids were intended to convey information about the evolution of ships and boats to people with low and no vision.
