Background
Hoang's is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech, where he directs an applied cryptographic reearch lab. He has been developing various privacy-enhancing technologies (e.g., Oblivious RAM, searchable encryption), many of which are in the process of being deployed in industrial infrastructure.
He has published over 23 research articles in respected conference proceedings and IEEE/ACM journals along with a number of open-sourced cryptographic libaries.
