Background
Rob Prins is a faculty member in the Engineering Department at James Madison University.  His industrial experience includes five years in the field of machine vision and one year in the automobile industry.  His current research interests include mechanical properties of specimens generated by additive manufacturing processes and application of natural fiber reinforced composites to additive manufacturing.

Alma Mater
Prins earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Michigan Tech in 1993, M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia in 1996, and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech in 2005.
