Cong Wang joined the computer science department at Old Dominion University (ODU) as an assistant professor in 2017. He is also affiliated with the Center of Cybersecurity Education and Research. Cong's research focuses on exploring algorithmic solutions to address security and privacy challenges in Mobile/Cloud Computing, IoT, Machine Learning and Systems.
He is the recipient of COVA-CCI Cybersecurity Research and Innovation Award in 2020, ODU Cheng Fund for Innovative Research in 2020 and IEEE PERCOM Mark Weiser Best Paper Award in 2018. Prior to joining ODU, he worked as a research position in the industry.
He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Stony Brook University in 2016, B.Eng. in information engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2008, and M.S. in electrical engineering from Columbia University in 2009.
