Cyber-Physical System Security and Resilience of the Power Grid
Chen-Ching Liu’s work focuses on securing the power grids against cyber intrusions.
Liu is the American Electric Power Professor of electrical and computer engineering at Virginia Tech, and is director of the Power and Energy Center.
Prior to coming to Virginia Tech, Liu was the Boeing Distinguished Professor of Electrical Engineering at Washington State University.
Liu received an IEEE Third Millennium medal in 2000 and the Power and Energy Society Outstanding Power Engineering Educator award in 2004. He is the U.S. representative on the study committee for information systems and telecommunication of CIGRE, the International Council on Large Electric Systems. Liu is an IEEE Fellow, a member of the Virginia Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
Liu received his B.S. and M.S. from National Taiwan University in Taiwan, and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
