Background
Jones is the Cyber Security Scientist for Virginia Military Institute’s Cyber Defense Lab.
Previously, he worked on information security and critical infrastructure in the health care and banking fields.
He also served as director of information technology at Southern Virginia University.
Previously, he ran his own software company, which specialized in 3D Mine Ventilation and Fire simulation software, as well as web-based analytic dashboards for California’s Fresno and Madera Unified School Districts.
He holds a professional certifications in CompTIA Security+ and is a Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

Jones has a bachelor’s in business administration, information systems, from California State University, Fresno, and is pursuing a master’s in Cybersecurity from Webster University.
