Smith is a research assistant professor in Digital Shipbuilding at Old Dominion University’s Virginia Modeling, Analysis & Simulation Center and an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering.
She holds a Ph.D. in Modeling and Simulation Engineering, an M.S. in Computational and Applied Mathematics, and B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics, all from Old Dominion University.
She was previously a senior lecturer in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics.
She is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the
Mathematical Association of America, the National Organization of Gay and Lesbian Scientists and Technical Professionals, the American Society of Engineering Education, and Tau Beta Pi (Engineering Honor Society).
