Background
James C. Haug is an Associate Professor of Management at Longwood University’s College of Business and Economics. He currently serves as Longwood’s representative and Board member the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Logistics Systems.

From 2002 to 2007, he served as an Organizational Business Analyst and Contracts subject matter expert with Quality Technical Services, Inc.. From 1991 to 2001, Haug was a tenured Associate Professor for Troy University, teaching full time in both the Atlantic and Florida regions. He was the program manager for the Master of Science in Management degree, and together with adjunct teaching both before and after his full time role, taught over 200 graduate level courses in the MBA, MSHRM and MPA programs.

During his career in the U.S. Navy from 1971 to 1991, Haug served as the Director of the Contracts Group and Resident Officer in Charge of Construction at the Navy Public Works Center. In this role, he managed the solicitation, award, and administration of construction, repair, maintenance, equipment installation, planning and design work valued at over $35 million per year.

Other past positions include serving on the staff of the Navy’s Broadway Complex Office in San Diego, CA; Visiting Professor, University of San Diego Business School; Facilities Planning Academic Division Director at the Civil Engineer Corps School Port Hueneme, CA; and various public works related assignments in the San Francisco Bay area, Washington, DC, and S. Weymouth, MA.

Alma Mater
Haug holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Management Engineering from Columbia University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Doctor of Business Administration from George Washington University, Washington, DC. He is also professionally registered in California as a Manufacturing Engineer.
