Current University
Virginia Commonwealth University

Research Area
Dynamic systems and control, with a particular emphasis on cyber-physical systems (CPS), model-based control, model predictive control, distributed control, and stochastic hybrid systems.

Research Summary
Nasibeh Zohrabi's current research is focused on the development of smart cities and the autonomous management of cyber-physical systems. She is investigating the integration of learning-based and model-based control, aiming to take advantage of both domains, for addressing challenges of complex cyber-physical systems. She is working on CPS modeling analysis and control with application areas of smart buildings, intelligent transportation systems/smart mobility, and smart food systems in the smart city project.

She is also collaborating with an interdisciplinary team for addressing the food desert problem in Richmond through harnessing the power of data analytics, smart technologies, and community engagement.

Zohrabi is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Zohrabi is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), and the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). She has served as a reviewer for many scientific conferences and journals.

Alma Mater
Zohrabi received her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Mississippi State University in 2018, and her M.S. in Control and Industrial Automation from Tarbiat Modares University in 2013.
